Can barsandbars.com assign me or help me in getting a numeric code?
No, barsandbars.com only creates graphical barcodes from the numeric codes. You have to ask your national EAN agency to assign a code to your product. For details on national European Union and other European countries EAN agencies please follow this link.

Once I get the graphical barcode, what should I do with it?
If an agency or person is doing the formatting of your book, CD, DVD or package of your product it will be enough if you send it to them. They will know how to deal with it.

If, on the contrary, it is yourself who is taking care of the formatting, your graphic application will allow you to import graphical files into the current file. You will only have to use this tool to import the graphical file we are sending to you. barsandbars.com DOES NOT offer support on how to do such operation.

Will I be able to import the graphical file in my graphics application?
Yes, JPG if a widely accepted graphical format. Quark Xpress, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher, Gimp, and any known graphical commercial or opensource application supports this format in any operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux).

How big should the graphical barcode be in my book/CD/DVD/product?
Barcode readers are able to deal with different barcode sizes. If you look at different barcodes in different products you will notice there is not a uniform size.

The standard barcode size should be 37.29 x 26.26 mm., however its size may vary depending on the need of each particular product. Our recommendation is the final printed barcode should be between 25 and 30 mm wide.

Will the graphical file have enough resolution to be included in printed materials?
No doubt. The graphical file will be 1,000 pixels wide with a resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch), which is enough for any printed material and to be read by any barcode scanner.

I had some problems with my email and I could not retrieve the graphical barcode file. What should I do to retrieve it?
During the sign-up process you will be assigned a ticket for this job. If you had problems to receive the graphical file please let us know from the same email address which appears in your order including this ticket reference and we will resend the graphical barcode to you in less than two labour days after your request.

barsandbars.com will not accept urgent requests for this reason.

I ordered an incorrect code, by mistake. What can I do to correct this error?
Service terms, which you accepted while ordering, clearly state that barsandbars.com will not reinbourse any amount due to customer errors. Therefore, you will have to order and pay for the correct barcode.

On the other hand, if you wished to have an EAN-13 but ordered a different type of code or vice versa, we cannot be held responsible for this mistake either. We cannot inform you about what kind of code you need to include in your product; you should ask this at your distribution company.
